New YR 13 students please make sure know what your AS Art specialsim is in i.e. what you were entered for at your previous school - Fine Art or Art and Design. Bring in certificates to make sure.
By September students need to have already collected digital images and studied the working methods of an artist, which could form the basis for the development of their ideas.
Unit 3 (a) to be completed, mounted and presented by December, 2008.
3 (b) Personal Study to be completed in draft by December,2008. Please have your area of study decided upon by July 6th' 08
A written evaluation has to explain the processes you have been through in arriving at the finished piece and the reasons for the decisions made. The development of your work has to be clear. This may be in the form of a filmed presentation.
Starting points: These should be naturally developed from your AS coursework. First of all your teachers will discuss some artists whom you might consider studying in the light of your AS work but your own research and gallery visits should be beginning to direct your studies. We hope that you will continue with life drawing classes when they are offered and of course gallery visits with the dept. as a whole year visit as well as your own personal visits to galleries.
Here are some starting points. If you would like to use them then make sure you are building on your good practice from your AS work. Discussion of these will follow in your art lessons.
